ROCKDALE COUNTY – On November 30, 2024, at approximately 11:40 PM, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) assisted the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) in a traffic stop on a vehicle involved in street racing on I-20. During an attempt to stop the vehicle, the vehicle exited onto Sigman Road at a convenience store, where gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and GSP. One suspect was taken to the hospital, while another was arrested near the scene. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) will oversee this investigation.
