The Rockdale County Sheriff‘s Office serves more than 96,000 residents with over 300 employees. Its uniform patrol division is responsible for answering calls for service, traffic enforcement, accident investigation and preliminary investigation into criminal activities in the county. The department s criminal investigation division prepares case reports for prosecution, interviews victims and witnesses, collects and preserves evidence, and develops information regarding criminal practices and operations. The Rockdale County Sheriff‘s Office also manages a jail that has the capability to house up to 720 inmates. It additionally maintains courthouse security and operates community-based programs for youths. The Rockdale County Sheriff‘s Office operates two precincts throughout the county and is located in Conyers, Ga.
