ROCKDALE COUNTY – On January 7, 2025, around 11 PM, a deputy was dispatched to an alarm and shots fired call on the 1500 block of Locomotive Road. Upon arrival, the deputy approached the house at which point the suspect immediately fired shots at the deputy. In response, the deputy returned fire. The suspect barricaded himself inside the house, prompting the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) SWAT team to be deployed to the scene. The RCSO SWAT team made entry into the house and safely took the suspect into custody. The suspect has been identified as Lorenzo Banks. Mr. Banks has been charged with Aggravated Assault on LEO (F).
