About Uniformed Patrol
The Uniform Patrol Division encompasses four shifts of deputies that provide 24-hour a day, seven days a week law enforcement services to the citizens of Rockdale County. Each watch is managed by a shift supervisor, who holds the rank of a corporal or above. This division is the initial and primary point of contact for the general public for most law enforcement interactions and requests for service.
Through directed and preventive patrol, the Uniform Patrol Division seeks to deter street crime and burglaries. They conduct preliminary criminal and traffic accident investigations; enforce criminal and traffic laws as well as ordinances enacted by the County of Rockdale. Uniform Officers also assist citizens with medical and social problems through crisis intervention and or referrals to the appropriate state or city agency. COPS/SAL, SROs, Traffic Unit, and HEAT are also vital parts of this division.
