Community Oriented Policing Services (C.O.P.S)
Community Oriented Policing Services (C.O.P.S) is a model of policing that focuses primarily on developing relationships with community members. The main goal of community policing is to develop community partnerships, engage in problem-solving and implement a strategy to reduce low-level crime which in turn can reduce serious crimes. The Rockdale County sheriff’s office COPS Unit consists of dedicated personnel with one goal in mind, and that’s to build the trust between the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Rockdale County. Through mutual understanding and collaboration, we can work together to arrest offenders, prevent crimes, solve ongoing issues within our communities and improve the overall way of life.
With that philosophy in mind, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office has hosted and will continue to host several events which we hope will further build the trust of the community so that we can continue to make Rockdale County one of the best communities to live in.
