ROCKDALE COUNTY – On November 3, 2024, at approximately 2:30 PM, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to 2880 Georgia Hwy 212 (Publix) on a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle. Deputies arrived on the scene and observed the victim pinned beneath the motor vehicle. The Rockdale County Fire Rescue (RCFR) was able to free the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS and later succumbed to the injuries.
The driver of the motor vehicle has been identified as a 17-year-old male. No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation. Additional updates will be made available at a later time.
