After graduation I began working for Rich’s/ Federated Department stores as a Corporate Investigator. In 1990 I went to work for the Conyers Police Department. I became a Detective with Conyers PD and worked my first homicide in 1993.
I got out of Law Enforcement until 2000, when I came to work for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.
Since beginning my career with Rockdale County, I have made every effort to achieve and continue learning. I attended Homicide Investigation at The Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) in Jacksonville Florida in 2005 as well Homicide Investigation at the City of Atlanta Police Department.
I received an award for personal achievement in CID in 2005 for my work solving burglaries in the county. I also received a Hometown Hero Award in 2005 from the community leaders and business owners.
In 2007, I received the Supervisor of the Year Award.
In 2010, I completed my Masters Degree (MPA) at Columbus State University.
Along the way I have also completed my Intermediate Certification, Advanced Certification, Supervisory Certification and my Management Certification through POST.
In 2005 I joined the Rockdale County SWAT Team. I served as an operator for several years and was then appointed SWAT Commander. I left the SWAT Team in 2010 for personal reasons and then came back as SWAT Commander in 2013 under Sheriff Levett. In 2016 I resigned as SWAT Commander and left the team. I had to have shoulder surgery.
While here at the Sheriff’s Office I have performed the duties of Deputy Sheriff, Investigator, CID Corporal and CID Sergeant. I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2009 and returned to the road where I was shift commander of Morning Watch and Evening Watch.
I came to the Support Services Bureau in 2016. SSB was a good fit for me. I have always been very organized and I have a history of inventory from work in the private sector.
In 2018 I returned to the road as a shift Lieutenant. I ran the day to day operations of one of the four 12 hour shifts.
In 2019 I was promoted to the Executive Officer over Uniform Patrol Division, Narcotics, Traffic and H.E.A.T.
In 2020 I was promoted to Captain and assigned to Judicial Services which includes Warrants/ Civil and the Courthouse Divisions.
